New article out on hippocampal morphology and connectivity in psychosis.

The hippocampus is an anatomically complex structure implicated in memory, and abnormalities are hypothesized to be associated with psychosis symptoms.  Using ultra-high field 7T MRI data collected at the University of Pittsburgh, this new article, title Multipronged investigation of morphometry and connectivity of hippocampal network in relation to risk for psychosis using ultrahigh field MRI, examines region-specific anatomical changes alongside changes in hippocampal connections in 41 healthy controls and 27 participants at familial high-risk for psychosis.  Volume loss was found in the both left and right hippocampi of high-risk subjects, along with lower fractional anisotropy, suggesting network impairment.  Check out the whole article in Volume 256 of Schizophrenia Research!
